We’ve implemented several improvements on the monitoring of our RDS snapshot cross-account replicator module, which have been rolled out to all customers that are currently using it.
That module is used to take regular snapshots of RDS instances or Aurora clusters and replicate them to another AWS account in another region for disaster-recovery purposes. Since AWS doesn’t offer a built-in & managed solution for that, we built our own system, involving several Lambda functions and triggers, which require monitoring to ensure we catch any problems in the system.
This update aims to improve and increase that monitoring, to cover some edge-cases and make it more robust and reliable.
As mentioned above, all changes have been rolled out to all customers using this system, and no further action is expected from you.
