We’re updating the format of our monitoring Slack messages. As you already know, all the alerts produced by your Kubernetes clusters show up in Slack. The goal is to provide visibility on what’s going on in your infrstructure and application, and to improve the response time of alerts.
Up until now the alert notifications were bulky and not all information in there was useful, which made Slack channels cluttered and difficult to read sometimes. We’re updating the format of the notifications to mitigate that issue. The new alerts are simpler and to the point, so it’s easier to see what’s going on and will be less disruptive to normal human communication.
We’ve rolled out the update to all staging clusters by now, and production clusters will follow in the next few days.
Also, this new format can probably be improved still, so we’re really looking forward to your feedback.
