We are excited to announce that we have added two new controllers to our Flux setup: the Flux Image reflector and the Flux Image automation controller. These work together to update a Git repository when new container images are available.
The Image (metadata) reflector controller is responsible for scanning image repositories reflecting that metadata into a Kubernetes cluster. It pairs with the Image Automation controller to drive automated config updates in your Git repository by automatically updating the image references in YAML files in the Git repository.
